These phones are actually made by Ultimate Ears, and in fact are identical to the Super.F1 3 Studio. Like all in-ear buds, they depend on a good seal to produce exceptional sound quality. Designing for a tight seal and maximum comfort is the design challenge for all in-ear sound isolation earbuds. Some complain that the Altec Lansing fell short in the comfort department. Several have adapted foam ear tips from Comply Foam report a huge improvement in the comfort department, while maintaining great audio qualities. Definately one of the better values for a replacement set of earbuds, especially in the $40 range.
